Universities and start-up creation by Ph.D. graduates: the role of scientific and social capital of academic laboratories

Abstract This paper investigates how the characteristics of university laboratories influence propensity Ph.D. students to entrepreneurship, and thus, contribute transfer academic knowledge society. As determinants we focus on lab scientific social capital as well business experience that acquire during their training period. The empirical exercise is based questionnaire survey data 5266 in Italian universities all subject areas. First, find 6.7% graduates engage startup activities, seems through entrepreneurship.
